I am thrilled to be a part of this year’s Amazon Heart Thunder motorcycle adventure for breast cancer survivors.  We are riding one week together and it will truly be the adventure of a lifetime.   This ride gives us the opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer and in particular young survivors’ issues, raise funds for breast cancer charities and share our experiences with others who are champions of this disease. Helen Keller said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing”.

One in seven women is diagnosed with breast cancer and the other six know her!  Who could possibly be more motivated to raise money for this noble cause than a group of breast cancer survivor’s?   How lucky I am to be a part of this ride!

My passionate drive to help younger women affected by this disease is driven by my 3 daughters…Kristin 23, Justine 21 and Erika 19.  I never want them or any of their friends have to go through the cancer experience.  Today, there are approximately 250,000 women in the United States under the age of 45 living with breast cancer.  I was diagnosed at 44.  Young women affected by breast cancer experience unique needs and concerns related to their life stage,  experience greater unmet needs, more unhappiness and more financial stress than older women.

I am now a 7 year survivor!   Sometimes life deals you circumstances that you are not meant to understand.  Fate is an odd thing and often times the challenges that are put on you are not the most desirable.  I decided the best plan was to refuse to give up, give in or quit riding!

Your donation to support my participation in Amazon Heart Thunder will help the thousands of women diagnosed with breast cancer each year access the support they need.  Thank you for your generosity!  Jacqui
