Hey!! I'm Tia, originally from Wisconsin (home of Harley Davidson) and soon, I will be a 4 year breast cancer survivor!!!

Just after my 30th birthday I felt a weird lump...everybody said it was "probably nothing", had a mammogram and ultrasound and the doctors said it looks like "probably nothing" yet recommended a biopsy. So, I scheduled a lumpectomy surgery and afterwards, the "nothing" was really "something". I had cancer. Happy %^&#@ birthday!

I chose to do traditional treatment: mastectomy, aggressive chemo, numerous reconstruction surgeries (which paid off very well if I don’t say so myself ? ) as well as complimentary treatment: yoga, Qi Gong, acupuncture, energy healing which helped me in my physical, emotional, and spiritual development.

However, the challenge during my “cancer cloud” was finding other young women like me. I needed someone to talk to; someone who could understand me. I looked into many, many support groups, yet never could find one for younger women. I have very different concerns and problems compared to an older woman. For a while there I felt pretty alone.
Until I heard about Amazon Heart!!

As an avid motorcyclist, I knew this group was for me! I was fortunate to do the US ride last year and not only did I have an incredible time, I also met my lifetime sista's!!
We rode together, talked together, danced together, cried (a lot) and laughed together.
From that ride, I learned that no matter what happens, I will never, ever, be alone again.
And knowing that brings me peace and hope. I love you Amazon Heart sista's!!!

I'm looking forward to promoting awareness and prevention of breast cancer in young women on this years ride. I'd like for us to be known to everyone, so no other girls will ever have to feel alone! Every 3 minutes another woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. I know the feeling after diagnosis; there are too many minutes in a day, a year and a lifetime.

Please help prevent any others from experiencing that feeling.
Thanks so much for your generosity.
