I am thrilled to be taking part in this year’s Amazon Heart Thunder motorcycle adventure for breast cancer survivors!

I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, stage 2B with mets to my axillary nodes. I was 35 years old at the time.

I had a full resectional surgery with node location, then a radical mastectomy and lymphadectomy, followed by the usual 6 months of chemo and 2 months of radiation. The year was 2000, and needless to say, I didn't keep a scrapbook of that momentous year!

Since then, I decided to enjoy my life more and yet do it safely and try to work towards a future retirement. I took up motorcycling when I turned 40, and I've never looked back.

I'm now an 8 year survivor.

I'm from northwest England by birth, but have lived in the USA now for just over 20 years and have dual citizenship.

I'm looking forward to the Amazon Ride, and combining it with family visiting.

Your donation to support my participation in Amazon Heart Thunder will help the thousands of women diagnosed with breast cancer each year access the support they need. Thank you for your generosity!
