I am passionate about raising awareness of breast cancer and so have been busy for many years.   It is 14 years since my breast cancer diagnosis and 12 since endometrium cancer.  My first adventure was to paddle 1000km down the Murray River with Fenceliners.   Then I was driver for the Fenceliners who biked through Tasmania.  So now I am excited to be doing something again for Amazons.

Being a member of the Redlands Branch of the Queensland Cancer Fund keeps me involved and busy in local activities such as street stalls and raffles.  Relay for Life, Run for a Cure,  Daffodil Days, and Biggest morning Tea mean busy times.   I also do public speaking and help with our local breast cancer support group.   However, my most inspiring time is spent Dragon Boating with Missabittititty on the Brisbane River.  Through dragon boating I have made friends across the world.  It always humbles me to see newly diagnosed women out there stretching themselves to paddle.  What an inspiration they are!  What a privilege to be in the same boat as them!

One of my friends has begun Bottles of Hope Australia after her daughter gave her a Bottle when she was having chemo.   She found it on the internet and ordered one from USA.   Now it is running very successfully in and they are sending bottles to all states of Australia.  The aim is to have them in every hospital.  I am always busy making jams, pickles and relishes to raise money for these bottles as they are free.  We have to buy the fimo (clay) to cover the bottles and have money for postage.  Many people help by making them.

I have a wonderful husband, three adult children and five great grandchildren.  Life is fun and every moment is precious.  My motto is "Just do it".
