My name is Christie Parker. I have three children and many dear family and friends who I’m not willing to leave behind. I’m here to ROCK ON LIVE ON!

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in March of 2004. Well we’ve all heard the stories, down hill after 40! I was eight days into the forties and the joke was on me. Like anyone who is diagnosed with a life threatening disease, you are terrified and over whelmed with decisions that must be made in treatment options. In my case I had no previous information on cancer so the very first night I went to a local bookstore. I think I must have bought every book in the store that could educate me on breast cancer. Who could sleep at this point? Great time for reading!

In the following weeks I had a Lumpectomy and twenty two lymph nodes removed, followed by eight chemo treatments. The first four treatments were every three weeks and the last four were every week. Chemo was no picnic but you do what you have to. Of everything I missed my hair the most. Some of the best fun is wearing different wigs when you go out to meet friends. They never knew who would show up! Even though I was bald and sick I refused to roll over and die. I found humor in everything possible. I finished with thirty-three radiation treatments and a prescription for Tamoxifen.

Now left with an abused body and no energy, I went to see a complementary medicine doctor to help me rebuild my immune system and energy level. She worked with me on nutrition and put me on some great supplements. Within three months my energy level had increased at least 70%. It’s great to go all day without a nap - “I’m a big girl now!” We also did some hormone testing and found I was progesterone deficient. I’m using a progesterone cream that will aid in balancing my hormone levels. This being very important to me knowing my cancer lives on estrogen in my body.

The words ROCK ON LIVE ON were founded by my own feelings on living life, not just existing after cancer treatments. I believe in all the research being done for cancer and finding a cure. However, I would like to see more education on nutrition and preventive treatments. If we work hard at having a great immune system, that’s a great start at preventing cancer. Had I known a couple of years ago what I know now I think I could have prevented my cancer. Cancer changes your life forever. I live life to the fullest and share all the information I’ve learned, with anyone needing my support.

I started a little business selling Cancer Awareness T-shirts, Pins, Magnets, ECT. With the Logo….. ROCK ON LIVE ON!

I’ve been looking for a organization to help fund. I love to ride and love saving lives!

LOOKS LIKE I FOUND THE “ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME”
