Day Three – Taree to Coff’s Harbour
We woke up to clear skies in Taree after an amazing electrical/rain storm the night before. We stopped for brekkie at the local Baker’s Delight and bought an esky (ice chest) and water for the vans.
After our daily morning gas stop, we headed out once again. We are riding so well as a group. We stuck to the main highway all day as there is only one possible road to get to Coff’s Harbour from Taree.
When we arrived at out brand new youth hostel (complete with pool and conveniently located across the street from a bottle shop and walking distance to the beach), the Australian riders were quickly sent off to do a market research focus group for Harley-Davidson. Those of us who went to the pool and/or beach were feeling guilty…until we found out they were fed sushi and wine!!!
That evening the local Rotary club had invited us to their monthly meeting as the guests of honour. They made us all feel so welcome, provided a fantastic BBQ dinner, and gave us (BCNA) a $500 donation!!! Thank you!!!
