A Day at the Beach - Bondi!

The ride hasn’t even started, but we sure are having a lot of fun!!! Tuesday was a beautiful sunny day with an occasional cloud or two.

Eight of us crammed into the van and went to Bondi Beach. Four of us suffered through an exhausting and humbling surfing lesson while the others went shopping and for lunch. We had so much fun that Meredith bought a surf board so we can surf our way up to Brisbane this week and have a full Australian experience!!! Of course, she already knew how to surf, and may be stuck providing additional lessons to the rest of us.

Wendy arrived on the morning flight from Philadelphia, and Melbourne Donna (a.k.a. Bad Aussie) arrived Monday night. It felt like quite the reunion for afternoon drinks in the beer garden and dinner at the hotel, as 11 of us who did last year’s ride are now at the hotel here in Coogee. Cindy from Victoria is also at the hotel with her family, and has met up with a number of the riders.

The hotel is a perfect location, not just because it is across the street from the beach, but the street is lined with good, inexpensive restaurants and shopping.

Hi to my US family and friends,

Arrived in Sydney yesterday. It was raining but stopped as we reached our hotel in Coogee Bay. The flight was long but so worth it. Seeing so many of our old friends from the US ride last year and being in this lovely place…what a dream come true. We went to the famous Bondi Beach today to watch our adventurous friends take surf lessons. Now we are back at the hotel talking about the trip ahead and enjoying each other’s company…and waiting for a big steak dinner! Love to all my family and friends and can’t wait to tell you about my upcoming adventures.

What can I say but how absolutely in awe I am of this trip so far. Seeing all the girls from the US ride last year has been awesome!! I am so thankful to once again be a part of these wonderful, brave warriors. Looking forward to meeting the new riders & sharing their country.

I especially want to thank my wonderful husband & kids for their continued support. Without them I wouldn’t be here today. I love you!!!

Today I saw my friends Megan, Meredith, Rhonda and Fearless challenge themselves in a way I have never seen before, surfing for the first time in an absolutely beautiful beach, Bondi Beach. I have been inspired and I am envious of their courage. GREAT JOBS LADIES! On another note, I am right back into where I was last year when the ride started feeling so blessed to have such wonderful loving friends. I love you guys!

Having a great time reminiscing with my old friends from the U.S, enjoying a cold Chardy. Coogee Bay Hotel is awesome. I’m just enjoying the start of my holidays.

Bad Aussie………(Melbourne Donna - she’s really a good Aussie, The BEST!)

G'Day from Sydney Australia. This place is awesome. Not sure what day it is or what time but I'm having a ball. Went to the beach yeaterday to watch Rhonda, fearless M&M take surfing lessons. Glad I didn't get talked into that. Way too much work for a vacation!! Have been watching the beach and drinking some good beer. We pick up the bikes on Friday. I'll have to admit that riding in the van the wrong side of the road thing is kind of freaking me out.... Well, be sure and follow the blog, I think Megan said she'd have the computer out in the bar tonight. I wish you were all here with me. Love and miss you all.

Stacy
