The Calm Before the Ride
It was kind of a quiet Wednesday here in Coogee. Five of us spent a very challenging and productive day in media training provided by our Australian ride sponsor – Roche. Several others packed so lightly they were off doing laundry at the local Laundromat.
We all met up in the pub (of course) for afternoon drinks and eventually dinner – fresh fish cooked to order at “A Fish Called Coogee”.
For those who were able to stay awake past 9pm, there was pub trivia night led by a local drag queen – Penny Tration. Apparently the Amazon Heart team put up a good showing and won A$20 for a second place finish.

People are starting to arrive here in Sydney, some new faces, some old. The anticipation of the ride is so much different than it was last year in California. I was such a new rider and wanted so badly to not embarrass myself in front of everyone. This year I can relax and enjoy the ride much more other than being a little afraid of riding on the wrong side of the road. It has been amazing how we are already supporting one another and feel so close. This is so much more than a motorcycle ride for me. I love these women and I love the relationships we are developing.
