The Briefing

Those who were already at Coogee took the bus into Circular Quay for some sightseeing and shopping while the remaining participants flew in from around the world.

Everyone met up in the pub at 4:30. There were lots of introductions and hugs, as well as a variety of presents people brought to share with each other.

At 5, we headed up to the conference room for the official ride kick off briefing. There was lots of sharing and lots of tears. It is going to be a very special week indeed.

After the briefing, we all went down to the pub for dinner and a chance to start getting to know each other. There is definitely a buzz of excitement, nervousness and anticipation around finally picking up the bikes tomorrow!!!

Participant Comments:

Cheers from down under. All the riders are here now and we had a briefing and group dinner. Tomorrow we pick up the bikes and I’ll have to say that the “wrong” side of the road thing has me a bit anxious!!

It’s been a great week. Although the weather has been a bit disappointing the company makes up for it all.

Was great hearing all the stories this evening at briefing and I think that the “newbies” are all a great addition to our family.

Can’t wait to get on the road. Cassara my darling peanut princess, I love you and I’ll see you soon.

Stacy aka Sweeeeeeeeeeep (but not in Oz)

Hey everybody back home in Michigan!! Australia is beautiful and the Aussie people are fantastic!! Went to downtown Sydney and saw some of the local sites-the Opera house and shops around town. Two days ago I learned how to surf on Bondi beach. I think I actually stayed on the board for 4 sec.!! Yeah!! Swallowed a lot of salt water also. We had our first meeting of the riders tonight and it is going to be another great group of women riding for a week. It is also a mini-reunion of last years US ride-great to see our Aussie girls again. Can’t wait to start the ride on Sunday-we pick up the bikes tomorrow and it seems we are going to have a lot of media attention here in the land of OZ. Love to all my family and friends . Give Sugar a hug for me Moo!

We went into Sydney today and saw the amazing Opera House and the Harbour Bridge and did some shopping at the Rocks. What a beautiful city! Tonight the participants were finally all together for our introduction meeting…another powerful, beautiful group of women. It is going to be another incredible ride! More later….

Hugs,
Linda (from California)
