Friday Morning....
We had a big day yesterday, picking up the bikes, long photo shoot, and an incredibly sunny warm day.
Last night 7 adventurous women did a power walking tour of London - Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, etc - all in an hour! Another 5 joined us for a fun dinner and a few glasses of wine.
The rumor is our story made it into today's Daily Mail (a national newspaper), and the story has been heard on the radio.
Today the weather has taken a turn - cool and raining.
From the participants:
Got here all jet-lagged from my holiday, but WOW this is amazing….. such wonderful women and such an opportunity for me. It was incredible to hear the amazing stories when we introduced ourselves, and to meet these beautiful ladies. I’m inspired by Megan and Meredith’s enthusiasm and am looking forward to it all. Last night we decorated the van and it looks vantastic! Jules, Angie and I went to a pub quiz and had fun while the others did a one-hour tourist extravanganza led by Meredith.
Regards for now, Laney.
I just gotta say, all the hard work and preparation has paid off, now i've met everybody. My journey down to London on Wednesday was quite uneventful but meeting the rest of the riders was awesome. On Thursday as the rest of the girls collected their bikes from Warrs Harley Davidson in the blistering London heat it was amazing, the press and photographers were there and it was Changing Gears T-shirt on, then off to be replaced by Lavender Trust then that was off andd C.G. one one and so on, I'm sure you get the picture of 16 women getting changed on the car park outside. Anyway we all came back and a few of us intrepid explorers decided to go on a whistle stop tour of London and I'm ashamed to say, I've never beed lead around London by an Australian but, if she ever wants a career change, Meredith will make an excellent tour guide. A lovely Italian dinner later and a few bottles of wine, conversation flowing and I'm sure everyone had a wonderful night. See you all later.
