A BIG Friday: Rain and BBC News
A huge day! Miserable rain. Everyone rode beautifully in the bad weather to Thames Valley Harley-Davidson. When we arrived, we learned that the BBC News was one their way to do a story on the ride. Apparently the journalist had read about the ride on her way to work in the Daily Mail and thought it would make a great story.
We had a lot of fun with the filming, Jacqui O'Keeffe did an amazing job as our London spokesperson. We met up in the hotel bar this evening and were thrilled to see ourselves all over the BBC evening news!!!!!!!!!!!!
From the Participants:
Friday… well what a day, a wet ride out to Berkshire to Thames Valley Harley shop who made us all feel very welcome, with hot coffee waiting for us. A BBC crew following us, filming us riding, larking around and generally just enjoying themselves. Lunch at a café watch by a bemused bunch of patrons, who also ended up being filmed just by being in the same vicinity as us, all in all though it’s been a good day and now at 6.10 we’re huddled around the TV waiting for our 5 minutes of fame to promote this really worth while cause… long may the interest continue … because I’ve never met a group of women like this, they are so lovely, and I’m enjoying their company immensely.

God – what a day! (Friday) Raining cats and dogs and riding a strange motorcycle that I had only picked up yesterday. Very nervous but I made it!! Arrived at the Harley dealer and was amazed by all of that chrome!! Everyone did a fantastic job riding in difficult conditions. I still need lots of practice – not having ridden a bike for 5 years but determined to get on with it. Harley people very friendly. Meredith and Megan had it all organized in their usual efficient way – then told I had to talk to BBC London . Would I let everyone down, could I get the message across of what we are trying to achieve? Just watched myself on TV – not bad but I have to lighten up!! I am so in awe of everyone else who are competent bikers – they are an inspiration.
