Amazon Heart Odyssey and Amazon Heart Outreach developed in 2004 after Founders Megan Dwyer and Meredith Campbell visited projects in Sri Lanka and India supported by The Lasallian Foundation

In India, we visited Girls Village, an orphanage run by St Joseph's Development Trust. 90 girls currently live in the village, many orphans (including HIV/AIDS orphans), abandoned girls and even survivors of female infanticide attempts.

Girls in the village are cared for and educated until they are able to move out into jobs or further education.

We have chosen to support the work of SJDT through a child sponsorship
cheme. For just $25 per month, you can change the life of one of these amazing children.

Read some of the stories of children we currently support below. US donors contact us for more information. Australian donors, contact The Lasallian Foundation for information on child sponsorship.

Delasalle and Infanta

Delasalle's father died from AIDS and at the time he was born his mother was seriously ill with the disease. Unable to cope with caring for him, she kept him in a cardboard box for the first few months of his life, before he was rescued by a social worker from SJDT and brought to their orphanage. After 3 years in our sponsorship program, Delasalle has grown into a healthy and intelligent boy, top of his class at pre-school.

Infanta was born into a very poor family. Her mother died from Tetnus after the delivery of her second child and her father ran away abandoning both children. Infanta's extended family were too poor to care for her, and brought her to the orphanage. A beautiful and happy child, Infanta is one of the most talented dancers in Girls village.
