Changes.... That was over 5yrs ago and yes my life has changed in many many ways. With the benefit of hindsight and experience I know that changes can be extremely good for you and alter not only your life course but also the way you value yourself and others. Recently a friend commented on my changes and stated that - I had firmly stood up, dusted myself off and re-invented myself. A large part of my re-invention is attributed to belonging to the Dragons Abreast organisation - Dragon Boating for breast cancer survivors and supporters. I love being part of such a diverse and strong group of women. I am constantly reminded of how much inner strength we all have. It has been through my involvement with Dragons Abreast that I found out about another courageous group of women - Amazon Heart Odyssey. With this organisation of fabulously strong spirited women I hope to travel to Sri Lanka and offer my assistance any way I can. This seems a perfect way for me to "give back" in some small way. I look forward to sharing experiences, fears and support with other women in Sri Lanka who are possibly still struggling with not only their cancer challenge but also huge social, economic and environmental obsticles. I am humbled to think I may be able to contribute in some small way. This is my chance to do something positive and possibly show that change can be a hugely empowering thing.
