the April 2007 Arizona Adventure!

From April 23 - 27, 2007 a small group trekked through Canyon de Chelly (pronounced “Shay” in the Navajo Nation, Arizona. Widely considered one of the most striking canyons in the Colorado Plateau, its colorful rock layers tell the canyon's story through the millennia. On this trek we explored not only an incredibly beautiful landscape, but also the rich human culture and history of this area.

Beyond the physical challenge of the trek, our group also journeyed through time and history with our understanding and appreciation of both the environment and the Navajo culture enhanced by our native guide Winnie, who loves to share her knowledge, traditions, and legends with respectful travelers. During our trip we investigated Anasazi ruins, visited Spider Rock, and learned how the Canyon and the Navajo have shaped each other through the centuries.

Our adventure was custom designed by Adventures in Good Company who provided professional guides and logistical support for the Expedition.
